Shadow StewardAbout Shadow Steward
A calm second opinion on your website. Free checks that look at a website the way a visitor or a search engine does, and tell you in plain language what to fix first.
Who makes it
Shadow Steward is made and run by Christopher Ross in Fort Erie, Ontario. I have built on the web since 1996, I have worked in WordPress since 2007, and I am completing an MA in Learning and Technology at Royal Roads University. I have also taught at Sheridan College and York University. I made Shadow Steward to give a site owner a calm second opinion without a sales call.
My consulting and training practice is at thisismyurl.com.
What it does
There are seven free checks: images, SEO basics, titles and descriptions, broken links, page speed, accessibility and security. Each one reads your public pages, shows you what it found, and says why it matters. There is also an API for people who want the same checks inside their own tools.
How it works
The checks read your public pages, the way a visitor's browser would. You never need to give a password or private file to use a free check.
