These terms cover your use of the Shadow Steward website and its free checks, run by Christopher Ross, operating as Shadow Steward. By using a check you agree to them.
What the checks are
The checks give you information and suggestions about your website and pictures. They are a starting point, not a guarantee. AI-written text can be wrong or miss things, so read it before you use it. For example, check that suggested alt text really describes your picture.
Your pictures
- Only upload pictures you have the right to use.
- Do not upload pictures that are illegal, that show other people without their permission, or that you would not want described by an AI service.
- You keep all rights in your pictures and in the text and files the check gives back. Shadow Steward only processes a picture to answer your request.
The wpShadow plugin
The free checks in the wpShadow plugin run only on a website you own or manage, which the plugin proves by asking your site for a one-time code. They are limited to 30 a day per site and 10 an hour per check.
Fair use
The free checks are limited so everyone can use them. Do not try to get around those limits, overload the service, or use it to build a competing service.
No warranty and limits of liability
The service is provided as it is and as it is available. To the fullest extent the law allows, Shadow Steward is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profit, data or goodwill, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us, which for the free checks is nothing. This does not limit rights the law says cannot be limited.
Changes and law
We may change the checks or these terms. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
